CHRISTIAN COUNSELING

With so many distractions these days, it can be hard to find a therapist who aligns with Christian convictions. As we seek to understand Christian themes of fallen human nature, pain and suffering, hope and redemption, we can consider how to confront real struggles of depression, anxiety, interpersonal issues, trauma, and other forms of suffering. Regularly engaging in the means of grace - predominantly Scripture, prayer, and Christian fellowship - provides us with the most effective means for fighting sin and enduring suffering.

I have had experience in helping Christians navigate issues of depression, anxiety (including panic, phobias, OCD/Scrupulosity, social anxiety), trauma, interpersonal issues/conflict resolution, marriage, parenting, and “church life” (e.g., ministry, church hurt).

All mental work tends to weary and depress, for much study is a weariness of the flesh; but ours is more than mental work — it is heart work, the labor of our inmost soul.
— Charles H. Spurgeon
