Welcome!
In life, we all experience trials, whether it be seemingly inexplicable suffering or the result of our sinful nature. Sometimes our circumstances seem bleak and our faith wavers - but we are not left without hope!
Parakaleó is the Greek verb to “come alongside, to comfort, to encourage, or to exhort.” Since receiving my Master’s degree in 2018, I’ve had the honor to come alongside people from all different walks of life - from those incarcerated, to children/teenagers in the throes of the foster system, to those experiencing crippling depression and anxiety, to struggling married couples who feel counseling is their “last resort.”
In his counsel to the Corinthians, Paul says, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” (2 Corinthians 1:3-4)
It is my eager expectation in counseling to come alongside those who are seeking comfort by pointing them to the ultimate Comforter and the ultimate Counselor - to the One in whom our hope is constantly renewed.
